The Oracle/SAP feud is no secret. In your opinion, how do Oracle's recent applications-related acquisitions help them compete against SAP?
The applications market is quite mature. The name of the game for both companies is to retain their customer install-base and try to sell these customers additional solutions from their suite. Oracle's acquisitions have been driven by a desire to acquire a foothold on more customers, and to benefit from the ongoing revenue streams from maintainence and services to these customers.
