not entirely sure about your question, but I believe you're referring to RFI/RFP/RFQ, and RFX as the generic -- "Request for ..." In that context, an RFX is a requirements document of some sort that seeks information, a proposal, or a quote, respectively, for those acronyms. These are used by companies to seek information from vendors in order to analyze their solutions and ability to meet the business needs.
