Customer profiling is simply the process of gathering key data about a firm's customers -- such as age, income, gender, education, and buying patterns. In theory, the more information you can gather about your customers, the better you can anticipate and cater to their needs. The output of this exercise is a segmented list of customers by category that can be used to produce targeted marketing messages, offers and/or products.
