QUESTION POSED ON: 10 October 2007
How can I transfer employee data from the ERP Central Component (ECC) version 6.0 to SAP CRM 5.0? I would like to transfer particular fields of employee data from ECC to SAP CRM, but I don't know how to map the fields. Can you recommend how to do this?

EXPERT RESPONSE
You can distribute the organizational plan maintained in ERP HR to SAP CRM. ERP HR is the lead system for employee master data in this scenario. The organizational plan is distributed to SAP CRM using application link enabling (ALE).

In ECC HR IMG, you go to Basis> Application Link Enabling (ALE)> Model and Implement Business Processes> Configure Pre-defined ALE Business Processes> Human Resources Management> Distributing Master Data> Set up Distributed Organizational Management.

Caution: You will not be able to maintain or create "Employee master data" in SAP ECC, since HR is the lead system

Below are the configuration steps to follow in SAP CRM:

  1. Integration of organizational units with the business partner master records: In the IMG for CRM under Master data> Business Partner> Integration Business Partner -- Organizational Management.
  2. Integration of employee master records with the business partner master records: In the IMG for CRM under Master data> Business Partner> Integration Business Partner -- Employee.
  3. Different number ranges for employee master records in R/3 and in CRM: In the IMG for Basis (SAP Web Application Server) under SAP Business Management> SAP Business Workflow> Basic Settings> Number Range Maintenance.
  4. Check the SAP note 312090
