As the year draws to a close two of the major CRM vendors have closed major deals.
Siebel Systems Inc., San Mateo, Calif., announced it has reached an agreement for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to expand its use of Siebel Healthcare. Baltimore, Md.-based CMS will roll out Siebel to more than 76 call centers and modernize its customer services systems, the company announced.
CMS, a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, runs the nation's Medicare and Medicaid programs. With the implementation, it intends to provide a single point of access to multiple information sources. Once fully implemented, Siebel Healthcare is expected to handle more than 40 million calls per year for CMS.
SAP, Walldorf, Germany, also scored a major upgrade with automotive manufacturer Volkswagen AG, Wolfsburg, Germany.. Volkswagen is rolling out the automotive channel management capabilities of mySAP CRM through a single-source Web site it has dubbed eParts. The software will allow independent dealers to order accessories and replacement parts on the site. SAP Automotive Solutions is also expected to streamline global engineering and production for the carmaker.
