According to open source guru Bernard Golden, awareness about open source CRM will also continue to grow in the coming years with more coverage in the press. In January 2006, Golden predicted that stories about open source CRM would become common in the mainstream technology press and even general business publications. Many of these stories would compare open source CRM with Software as a Service (SaaS) CRM and conclude that many organizations may be better served with an open source product.

"The primary impediment to open source CRM adoption will, ironically enough, be tied to the increased awareness about it." he said. "As more mainstream organizations consider using open source CRM, they will call for more business-oriented analysis of how the products can improve their financial results and customer satisfaction."
