Andersen Consulting and Amdocs ally to deliver CRM and billing

The alliance combines Andersen's global management and technology capabilities and Amdocs' billing and customer care software. The billing and CRM software that the companies plan to deliver will encompass the entire scope of billing, customer care and order management operations for providers that offer services on enhanced Internet Protocol (IP) and other voice and data networks, according to Avi Naor, chief executive officer of Amdocs.

"This alliance was driven by the increased demand for larger, more robust CRM and billing solutions fueled by the convergence of IP, wireline and wireless," said Eli Gelman, senior vice president of Amdocs. "We believe this alliance will further deepen and strengthen the relationships both companies have always fostered with customers."

"The Anderson alliance expands our systems solution model by enabling us to offer customers a complete business solution... to help customers build their future," Naor said.

The alliance will establish rapid deployment capabilities to meet the needs of new market entrants and leverage a global network of communications and CRM Solution Centers to reduce time-to-market and support solution delivery on a global scale. The companies will also combine their resources on system implementation and integration, Naor said.

Both companies plan to offer a mutual education program on their new offering to ensure timely and accurate delivery and implementation of the software for their customers. The software itself packages customer service, sales and marketing, commission management, churn management, campaign planning and retail management. In addition, the software includes components for ordering and provisioning to manage service negotiation, delivery management, delivery of wireless and data network services, billing for new customers, event acquisition and formatting, rating, error and fraud management, invoicing, revenue management and inter-carrier settlement, Naor said.

Amdocs will remain solely responsible for the customization, support, development and structure of the software, for which a release date and pricing was not available, while Andersen will provide the global reach necessary for implementation, according to the companies.
